The longest running full-contact youth football camp program in the state of Kansas is back for our 11th year! As we’ve been doing for the past 10 years we’ll continue to strive to provide the most comprehensive full-contact camp for your young athlete. Whether your son is an incoming 3rd grader who’s never played full-contact football before, or the 8th grader who has been playing for six years we design our camp to fit all levels.
Methodology
The first afternoon of camp is spent in helmets, t-shirts and shorts to allow the athletes to get use to wearing their helmets. The period is used to evaluate all of the players to see where the skill levels are, how the sizes and ages breakdown and then a large emphasis on the fundamentals of tackling to get ready for the full-contact action to start the next day.
The next two days are spent in individual offensive and defensive drills, team offensive and defensive drills as well as competitive periods throughout the day. Each athlete will have the opportunity to work with the positions they choose, and no JJD coach will ever force a young player to a certain position during camp drills. Keep in mind though, our coaches are some of the best in the business and they put athletes in positions for a living so if they do make a recommendation to a player it will always be in the best interest of the player, but never forced.
The Mega Bowl
The Mega Bowl is the grand finale of the JJD Sports Mega Camps! This is our live game that the athletes have been working towards during the entire 4 days of camp. This game takes place on the final day of camp, and we encourage all family and friends to attend.
