National Signing Day a big event for past Mega Campers!

Anyone who follows high school or college football knows that National Signing Day began Wednesday, February 5th around the country.  Many young high school players saw their dreams come true of continuing their football careers at the next level, and many past JJD Mega Campers took part in the festivities.  We’ll do our best to update the list as we find out who has signed to play college football, but here is our list of who we know at this point.  It takes a lot of hard work and dedication both on the football field and in the classroom so these young athletes should be commended for this accomplishment … I know we’re proud to have played some small part in hopefully helping them along the way!  We can’t wait to watch them take their next step, and we can’t wait to watch the next crop of great young football players come through our camps in 2014!  Best of luck to you all!

A number of the players on this list were named to the top 100 players in the state of Kansas by Kansas-sports.com so we appreciate their help in putting out this list.  Parents or players, if you know of other past Mega Campers that are not on the list please be sure to let us know so we can add them.

Peyton Newell – Hiawatha, KS – Hiawatha HS – University of Nebraska
The 6’3″ 280 pound defensive end garnered more than 30 D1 scholarship offers over the course of his last two high school years at Hiawatha High school.  Peyton was a long-time Mega Camper, and even came back to speak to our young campers during his high school career.

DeSean Washington – Maize, KS – Maize South HS – Butler
The talented 5’9″ 170 pound defensive back was a three year all-league and all-state standout while garnering defensive league MVP for his Maize South high school football team.  DeSean was also a past JJD camper, and keep your eye out for him to possibly come back as a camp counselor this summer!

Seth Carder – Wichita, KS – Wichita Collegiate HS – Missouri S&T
Another defensive league MVP, Seth was also named all-state and all-league as both a linebacker and running back at Wichita Collegiate high school.  The 5’11” 220 pounder was possibly our longest tenured Mega Camper that signed to play college football this year.

Mitch Copeland – Wichita, KS – Wichita Collegiate HS – Kansas State
6’2″ 270 lb OL/DL

Payton Vetter – Beloit, KS – Beloit HS – Butler
6’3″ 190 QB/DB
